High Tea held Nov. 5, 2011
In November, a High Tea was held in the atrium of a local church. Club members and local ladies reserved their table for eight which they then decorated and set for their guests whom they invited. The guests were met at the door by two men dressed in tuxes. Many of the tables had been decorated using a theme and all were beautiful in their presentation (the committee had asked the table hostesses to have fun with their table). Several of the guests sitting at a theme table also dressed in colors to match the table color scheme, and some wore hats and gloves. Members of the committee prepared and served 12 delicious English tea items in four different courses, along with a special blend of tea. The members of the committee wore hot-pink aprons they had made, black pants and white shirts. The table hostesses cleaned and packed their table ware at the conclusion of the tea. All $15 tickets had been presold and no advertising was necessary. This was so well received that we were asked to do it again next year.
